When I was married to my ex, we took yearly trips to Six Flags St. Louis each summer. I don't have many fond memories of my ex, but I do have fond memories of the Six Flags trips. My three kids, in fact, have been to Six Flags twice this year with their dad (my ex). When they came back to tell me stories about the fun they had and the rides they went on, it brought on some delightful conversations about my fond Six Flags memories and comparisions to what they saw and did.
My favorite Six Flags memory was when I married my current husband at Six Flags St. Louis during Fright Fest. Yes, I was married at Six Flags! A semi-local radio station held a contest for twenty couples to get married at the theme park. Me and Jason were one of the winners so off we went for an adventurous wedding. Everyone was dressed in costume. I wore a black dress with a black veil and raven feathers. Jason was a mummy. I carried a bouquet of dead flowers and our cake was adorned with a zombie bride and groom. Each couple was allowed to invite ten friends to attend and get into the theme park for free. It wasn't a traditional wedding but it was certainly awesome and extraordinary. Me and Jason will be celebrating our ten year anniversary in October and I think he and I will be making a trip back to Six Flags St. Louis, to the place where it all started.

When I lived in KY, my best friend and my family went to Kentucky Kingdom which is basically the same thing as 6 Flags. I remember riding the thing that goes up and up and up and drops down really fast; we rode that thing like half a dozen times straight ^.^
My sister lost her flip flop while we were waiting for the thing to drop on one of those rides. LOL

Yes, and I'll never forget it...they no longer let you drive thru the monkeys on the safari..and I know why! They jumped on our car, one pee'd on the drivers mirror, and another managed to get the rubber hose that supplies the rear wiper completely ripped out, then ran around taunting the others with it.

Every year, I get together with my girlfriends and we go to Fright Fest at Six Flags. We leave the kids and hubby's at home and run around the park like kids ourselves. I look forward to that every year! :)

I have not been to a six flags park in ages but when I was a kid I went to Magic Mountain in California several times. I remember riding the Colossus wooden roller coaster which is the one from national lampoons vacation movie. I rode it back wards and felt like I was going to fall out of it. If I was a little thinner I would have. My butt was off of the seat the whole ride. It was a little freaky. i never rode it backwards again. I was only 10 at the time.

I WENT TO SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA WHEN I WAS A KID. I REMEMBER SEEING THE DOUBLE MERRY-GO-ROUND SITTING IN FRONT OF THE POOL AND REMEMBER JUST HOW BEAUTIFUL I THOUGHT IT WAS. I BOUGHT A TWEETY BIRD CUP, WHICH I STILL HAVE, ABOUT 30 YEARS LATER. SUCH A GREAT MEMORY!
