Family and friends gathered at Ice Scream, an ice cream shop filled with sci-fi and horror wonderments. Before we indulged in cupcakes and ice cream, guests were treated to a movie and popcorn in the theater located in the basement. We watched HOP, the movie about the Easter Bunny. The movie was okay and the setting was comfortable. The beginning was a little rocky because the store owner's son graced us with his ornery presence. I tried to be nice but he was causing everyone to be distracted from the movie. Finally, Shelby's boyfriend took him back upstairs and let the store owner know he needed to watch his own son. It wasn't up to us to control him.
My mother made two small individual cakes for Shelby.

Logan munched on a triple chocolate cone, otherwise known as Sith. All ice cream flavors are named after sci-fi and horror characters.
The walls were covered top to bottom in memorabilia. There were also cases filled with figurines. All in all, Shelby's first birthday party as an official adult went well.

Happy Birthday to your daughter, she's gorgous! Time flies, my oldest daughter is nearly 10 and it seems like yesterday she was crawling around.
Happy Birthday to Shelby - she's gorgeous!
She didn't waste any time, did she? ((HUGZ!)) I'm going to be an ugly mess when Princess Nagger grows up and moves out. She keeps saying she's never moving out - that she'll live with us forever...bet she'll be changing her tune 9 years from now or less. ;)
That ice cream place sounds so cool! What a great way to celebrate - aside from the disruptive owner's son, that is. ;)
