Xia-Xia Shell Party - Review and Giveaway

Easter is quickly approaching and that means one thing in kids' minds:  Easter egg hunts!  As kids grab their baskets and spring into the egg-hunting competition, surprise your little ones by adding their favorite toy, Xia-Xia, to your Easter egg hunt.  For those not in the know, Xia-Xia are robotic hermit crabs with collectible, interchangeable shells.  Open the Xia-Xia shells and kids can find little friends hidden inside.

MomSelect was kind enough to allow me to have a Xia-Xia Shell Party.  I received a party kit with four Xia-Xia hermit crabs, Xia-Xia shells, plastic Easter eggs, and Jolly Ranchers candy.  Emma and  Juliann were giggles and grins as they searched the yard for the hidden plastic eggs with special surprises inside.  Once the hunt was over, they came inside to see what was in each egg.

Xia-Xia were not new to Emma and Juliann.  They had heard about the toy hermit crabs before.  However, they didn't own any until after the Easter egg hunt and were thrilled to play with them.  Each Xia-Xia comes in cute plastic packaging with strings.  The package almost resembles a purse.  Xia-Xia come in different colors, with their own names and characteristics.  Turks was the girls' favorite, with her pink color and hearts on her claws. 

The bottom of each Xia-Xia has a power button to turn on and off.  Once they're turned on and set on a flat surface, the toy hermit crabs skitter about.  They're fun to watch move around.  The shells of each Xia-Xia come off and can be replaced with a different shell.  With each shell is special surprises hidden inside.  The surprises inside each shell are very small so I wouldn't recommend a younger child playing with them.  It's also advisable to keep Xia-Xia toys away from  hair as it can become entangled if the power switch is on.

While the girls played with their Xia-Xia they munched on some Springtime Snack Mix that I made.    Here's the recipe for this delicious, easy-to-make snack:

Ingredients

10 cups popped popcorn

1 (16 oz) bag chocolate chips

1 (14 oz) jar peanuts

1 cup raisins

5 cups mini pretzels

Direction

Mix popcorn, chocolate chips, peanuts, raisins and pretzels together.

I had as much fun as Juliann and Emma with our Xia-Xia Shell Party.  They had fun hunting for Easter eggs and playing with their Xia-Xia pets.  Juliann and Emma hope that more Xia-Xia are added to the product line so they can keep adding to their collection and playing with them.
