I can't recall a time that I've been so excited to see a movie. I'll go to the theater once in a while if I have a gift card or have collected enough money on my AMC Stubs card, but I'll be darned if I'm going to pay an arm and a leg to watch a movie when I can buy it cheaper on DVD.
I didn't even have an interest in Hunger Games until Alison of Being Alison raved about the book. See, people DO pay attention to blog reviews and recommendations! I bought the book and couldn't put it down. Luckily, my son already had the second book and I'm in the middle of reading it. Trust me, as soon as I get the extra moolah I will be buying the third.
I've seen previews for the Hunger Games and would've almost given up my firstborn to watch it in theaters....almost. My firstborn must have sensed that because she voluntarily offered to pay for us to go. So, this Friday as the clock strikes midnight I'll be in the theater among a throng of people watching the most anticipated movie of the year.
Twilight and Harry Potter weren't must haves for me. The Hunger Games are. It's a win-win situation. I'll get to see it as it's released AND I won't have to trade my firstborn. She'll be watching it with me.
Will you be watching Hunger Games?
