Food is an important part of the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration and certain foods are included for their symbolic value: noodles are served for longevity, oranges for wealth and prosperity, and a whole fish for abundance and togetherness. The Chinese New Year began on January 23, 2012 and ushered in the Water Dragon.
I love to eat Chinese food but will admit I've always been afraid to make it at home. I wasn't sure I'd know how or what products to use. House of Tsang challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and try making authentic Asian meals at home.
One of our meals consisted of using House of Tsang Hibachi Grill Sauce Kobe Steak as a dipping sauce for our steaks. It is primarily to be used as a steak marinade but also worked well as a dipping sauce. The strong combination of flavors added a unique taste to the steaks.
Another meal we tried was combining House of Tsang Sweet & Sour Stir Fry Sauce with chicken and broccoli, then adding it on a bed of boiled rice. The sauce added a hint of sweetness to the dish and was luscious. We liked it so well that I can forsee making it often.
We've been experimenting with a variety of House of Tsang sauces and oils. I never knew how easy it was to make Asian meals and the ones we've been making taste just as good as what I'd purchase from a restaurant. I'm excited that I've been able to branch out and offer something different, and appetizing, to the table.
