Celebrating Halloween with Hormel Foods - Review and Giveaway

Making creative fall-themed meals or Halloween snacks with Hormel Foods doesn't have to be frightening; In fact, you can be a Halloween hero with the collection of easy and creative Halloween recipes from Hormel Foods. 

We celebrate Halloween all month long at my house.  It's one of my favorite occasions and I like to make the most of it.  One snack that I recently created with my children was the Mr. Crab recipe.  Not only is it festive for Halloween, it also incorporates vegetables in a fun way.

Mr. Crab recipe

Ingredients:

1 (15-ounce) can Hormel® Chili With Beans

4 Kaiser rolls or buns

1 (8-ounce) package Hormel® Pepperoni

3 slices American cheese

1 cucumber , sliced

4 cherry tomatoes, cut in half

Carrot sticks

Directions:

1.Heat chili according to package directions.

2.  Meanwhile, split and toast rolls.

3.  Cut pepperoni into small triangles and cheese into medium triangles.  Cut carrot sticks for legs and slice cucumbers for eyes.

4.Fill each roll with 1/2 cup warm chili. Transform rolls into "Mr. Crab" by adding carrot-stick legs, pepperoni lower teeth and cheese upper teeth. Finish with eyes of cucumber slices and tomato halves attached with wooden picks.

The kids ate the heck out of these snack sandwiches.  I thought they were fitting for Halloween and fulfilling as well. 

Hormel Foods has come out with a limited edition dip kit that's currently only available at exclusive locations.  The brand new Hormel chili cheese dip kit is a can of Hormel chili without beans packaged with Hormel cheese sauce.  Combining the two cans together in the microwave make for a delicious dip.  Other ingredients can be added to it if you desire.  The Chilli Cheese Dip Kit is super easy to make.  It requires combining the ingredients of the two cans together in a bowl and microwaving them for just a few short minutes.  I made it up and served it with tortilla chips.  It's mighty tasty!
