Way Basics - Review and Giveaway

Way Basics believes in protecting the environment and finding creative solutions with their easy assembly storage furniture.  Their bookcases, benches, cubes, and cubes are put together with super-strong 3M brand adhesive strips that you fit neatly together.  There's no screws, nails, or tools required to assemble the pieces.  Just peel, stick, and you're done.

Way Basics uses water-based glue that's environmentally friendly and there's no formaldehyde in their products.  The zBoards that are used are made almost entirely from post-consumer recycled paper.  The paper zBoards turn virgin paper into strong boards that weigh 62% less than particle board. 

I received a blue Storage Cube from Way Basics and had to give myself a pat on the shoulder for putting it together in no time.  Usually I'm screaming for my husband before I get even halfway done assembling furniture.  I had the Way Basics storage cube assembled in less than fifteen minutes.

 

I'll admit I was at first hesitant at just how easy it would be to assemble the storage cube.  It arrived unassembled with four pins, four zBoards, and a backer board.  Using the illustrative chart, I put together the complete piece with no complications.  There were only four steps I needed to do to put the cube together.  I first placed the pins in each vertical zBoard, then peeled the adhesive strips off of them.  Then I stuck the vertical zBoards to the two horizontal zBoards.  The last step was applying the Backer Board.

Although it first looked like there were going to be many steps involved in putting the storage cube together, but I learned that the illustrated chart had instructions for more than one product.

Once my storage cube was complete and I left it alone for a few hours to completely adhere to itself, I placed one of my home decor pieces on it.  I really like the clean design and the bright blue color of the cube, with its white edging.  I've moved it around a few times to see exactly where I'd like to place it and the adhesive has held. 

I really like the whole concept and idea behind Way Basics.  They make storage furniture that I don't have to spend hours putting together and the different colors available make it easy to match the pieces to my home.  The fact that they are environmentally friendly is an added bonus.
