Teachable Touchables - Review and Giveaway

Educational Insights, a manufacturer of educational toys and games, has provided many hours of play to my children. Educational Insights products include subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators and parents who know that, first and foremost, learning must be fun. I've done many reviews and giveaways for them in the past, and the latest I'm doing for this upstanding company is for the Teachable Touchables texture squares.

I have numerous nieces and nephews in various age ranges whom I'm close to.  When the younger ones come by to visit I like to have age-appropriate toys on hand for them to play with.  The Teachable Touchables from Educational Insights are bean bags that I received and have gotten good feedback from with my youthful kin.  They are fun to play with, make games out of, and learn from.

The set of Teachable Touchables includes 20 pillows and 10 different pairs of patches.  It also includes a drawstring bag and activity guide.  The textured pillows and patches have different texture feels to them.  Some are soft, some are shiny.  Some are rough, some are furry.  I've played numerous games with the young kids, going over texture squares that match and describing how the textures feel.  Because the patches and squares are also different colors, we've played color games with them too.  They are a deviceful way to teach children about textures and tactile discrimination.
