As a mother with four girls, I am regularly looking for clothing and accessories that are stylish and unradical. My oldest, at age seventeen, sometimes struggles with me on what that means but I still put my two cents in when it comes to what they all wear. I recently received a few pieces from Tea Collection, a children's and women's apparel company, that travels to different destinations for the inspiration behind their collections. The pieces I received were from the Modern Mexico collection and met my approval for style, modesty, and comfort.
Emma likes to wear hoodies often and was pleased with the Dulce Dolman Hoodie. It's designed to hit at the waist with its cropped length. The hoodie fits her perfectly and keeps her warm during the autumn nights.
All three of the dresses we received were snagged up by Shelby, the oldest girl. She likes to be girly and wear dresses to school. One of the dresses, the Ancho Chile Stripe Dress, is inspired by Ancho chiles. With its cuffed short sleeves and stripes, it looks darling on Shelby. The design of the dress gives the illusion that she's wearing a top and skirt when it's actually a one-piece.
The Jardin Azul Maxi Dress has a pattern inspired by a painted wooden platter from Diego Rivera's art studio. I personally love the length of the dress. It covers the full length of the legs. It can be worn alone during hot days or paired with a blouse underneath during chilly days. Shelby has worn the dress a couple of times by itself and recently wore it with a cardigan.
The Talavera Yoke Dress is my favorite of the three dress designs received. Its design is inspired by the typical Talavera pottery found throughout Mexico. The length hits just above the knee. I think it looks nice worn alone, or with leggings. What I value about the three dresses is that they can be worn alone or with leggings and cardigans so they can be used all year round.
Tea Collection has a variety of leggings to pair with a dress or long top. The Skinny Stretch Leggings we received have been worn by Emma a few times and fit her snugly. They have some stretch and make a nice layering piece to an outfit.
All of the pieces we received were size 12. Some of the pieces fit differently than others. The dresses fit my seventeen year old daughter who weighs 125 pounds. The hoodie and leggings were more accurate to size and fit Emma who is nine years old. Other than the differences in size, all of the clothing pieces are well-made, comfortable, and chic.
