VIOlight - Toothbrush Sanitizer Review and Giveaway

Not a pleasing subject here, but have you ever stopped to consider what germs and other disgusting things may be on your toothbrush?  Most people keep their toothbrushes in the bathroom and that's the room for all things gross.  Luckily, there's a company that knows all about that business and they have products to sanitize your toothbrushes, dentures, and cell phones. 

I have false uppers so I seriously considered doing a review for the VIOlight Dental Cleaner.  However, after much consideration, I choose to review a different product instead - one that could benefit everyone else in my family.  I went with the Zapi Toothbrush Sanitizer, a personal toothbrush sanitizer that rocks.

The Zapi Personal Toothbrush Sanitizer comes in a handful of colors and I went with purple.  I let my teenage daughter claim it as her own and give it a whirl.  Resembling a modern day egg, the Zapi eliminates up to 99% of germs from your toothbrush with its germicidal ultraviolet light.  Three AAA batteries are required for the sanitizer to work and they are not included.  What is included, though, is a free toothbrush.  The bulb is supposed to last long enough for lifetime use.

First off, Shelby thinks the design of the Zapi is super cool and hasn't seen anything like it before. I've got to agree with her. Every night, after brushing her teeth, Shelby rinses and removes excess water from her toothbrush. She then inserts the toothbrush into the hole at the top of the Zapi. She secures the toothbrush in place by snapping the handle onto the rubber holder. The white button is pressed on the Zapi to activate the germicidal UV light. The button blinks for approximately six minutes during the time of sanitation. When the blinking stops, her toothbrush is free from germs. A drip tray makes up part of the Zapi unit and it needs to be cleaned with warm soapy water from time to time.  Even after the toothbrush it comes with is beyond use, it can be replaced with other regular manual or electric toothbrushes.  It's not necessary to buy an exclusive toothbrush from VIOlight to use the Zapi.

Am I able to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt by seeing results of the Zapi with my own eyes? No, but after doing lots of research on the product, watching videos, and seeing how it works for myself I've got to say it's a nifty gadget that is interesting to watch while it's doing its job and gives me piece of security that my daughter's toothbrush is cleaning her teeth, not making them dirtier.  Momma's saving her money up to purchase some more of these as Christmas gifts for the remaining kids.
