Random Tuesday Thoughts - Illinois, You Make Me Proud...Or Not

Tuesday again already?! Wow, this week went by fast. If you'd like to join Random Tuesday Thoughts, link up at Stacy Uncorked.  I promise, she won't bite.

Stacy

Yay!  I am officially moved in to my new residence.  No more slumlord problems and more room to move around in.  I foresee that I'll be done unpacking by this time next year.  I know it could get done sooner but I have to have complete control over what goes where in the new place.

------------------------------

I'm so darn proud of my state.  Illinois has ranked first place in something.  Too bad it's first place for being the most broke.  We're so far in the hole moneywise that I doubt we will ever be able to dig ourselves out.  These aren't tears of joy I'm crying.

-----------------------------------

Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with my son, Adam, while driving on the interstate.  After seeing a big hauler pass us, he proceeded to tell me that if ever has to be a semi-driver he's not getting married and he's sure not having babies.  There's no time to be spent with them.  He'll just stay in hotels every night and buy his clothes from Wal-Mart.

------------------------------

My dog, Cisco, makes for a great fly swatter.  He has super Mr. Miagi skills and can catch flies in mid-air.  He caught three yesterday.  Sure hope a fly doesn't land on me....

-----------------------

Adam has went from this.....

.........to this.  He got the full wrap taken off his foot and now has a blazin' neon green bandage on his foot.  He also has to wear a walking boot with it.  He's doing fairly well on the crutches.  Only fell three times!
If all goes well, he goes back to the doctor one week from today to get the pins and stitches taken out.  He's anxious.  Can't blame him.  I'd like for him to be able to at least enjoy part of his summer before school starts.  He's itchin' to go swimming.

At least his insight on the trucker thing will keep people from getting hurt, right? Very funny. Happy Tuesday!

Don't feel bad, the whole country is nearly broke with those bone heads in office spending all the time. What happens when we reach our credit ceiling? There is no more credit. How on earth does this all work when you're talking about the government? This is too complicated and it hurts my brain to think about. lol.

Oh yay for Adam! I hope he can get a few swims in before school starts again and/or the cool weather. The summer has zipped by!

Hope he gets to go swimming before the summer ends--looks like it's getting closer to happening.

The trucking comment shows some real thought!!! I like the "I'll buy my clothes from WalMart." Too funny! I hope Adam gets his wish and gets to go swimming before school starts!

Congrats on finally being out and into your new place! I'm sure if you just take it a day at a time, you'll be unpacked and settled in no time :)

I concur about IL! I honestly can't wait to move away so I don't have to deal with this corrupt state anymore O.o

I'm so glad your son is getting better and healing nicely! He'll be on his feet in no time xD
