No Ordinary Burger Recipe Contest - Johnsonville Giveaway

Thanks to the first-ever “No Ordinary Burger Recipe Contest,” sponsored by the National Pork Board and Johnsonville Sausage, backyard chefs can share their spin on the traditional burger using new Johnsonville Brat and Italian Sausage Patties – for a chance to win big!

Build your best burger using Johnsonville Brat or Italian Sausage Patties, and you could win a year’s worth of groceries from WalMart in the “No Ordinary Burger Contest".  Ignite your inspiration with pork and get grilling!

Now through September 6, log on to the contest page and submit your recipe and vote for your favorite pork burger. Two grand prize winners will be awarded one year's worth of groceries and their winning recipes featured on Johnsonville Brat and Italian Sausage Patty boxes.  If you're interested in submitting your burger, be sure to read the contest rules to read the requirements and rules.

My husband enjoys grilling on the weekends at camp and he is always coming up with new meat concoctions.  They're not fancy or over-the-top but they are delicious and a break from the usual.   Last weekend he grilled up some Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage Patties.  We've never had that variety of burger before and found that we enjoyed the taste and texture of it.  To add his own twist, he included some fajita seasoning on top of the patties while they were grilling.  After they were done cooking, he topped the patties with diced fresh green peppers and a dash of Parmesan cheese.  Not only had we never had this variety of Johnsonville patties before, but we'd never tried this kind of burger he made with it.  I've got to say, it was mighty tasty.  Don't knock it till you try it!
