Hormel Foods Tips and Ideas For When On The Go - #HFExtendedFamily

Do you have a favorite Hormel Foods product?  For me, it's the Hormel Always Tender pork tenderloins.  We like to cook them on the grill on weekends when we are camping.  What about any Hormel Foods products you use on a regular basis?  For my household, it's Chi-Chi's Salsa.  Eating tortilla chips with it is a favorite snack for everyone.

It's no secret healthful eating and snacking can be a challenge when you're on the go, not to mention while you're on vacation or taking a road trip.  How do you make sure your family maintains a healthy diet when you're away from home?

If you're looking for new ways to keep everyone in the family going strong during busy times, here are some ideas:

Pack snacks and lunches at home to bring along when you know you'll be away from home for a long period of time.  This way, you know what goes into each meal or snack.  By creating familiar items like roll-ups and snack mixes, your family won't miss unhealthy fast food choices.
Tip: Pack Cranberry and Orange Chicken Wraps for an easy lunch in the car. These seemingly ordinary wraps pack a punch with refreshing citrus flavors.

Consider stocking up on fun games including Sudoku, crosswords and other puzzles for longer trips in the car.  These attention-keeping games will keep the while family entertained while sharpening their minds as you head back into the school year.
Tip:  Check out sales at your local bookstore for great bargains on picture books, summer guides and other inexpensive goodies.

Last weekend me, the two boys, and my husband went to a drag race.  We ate a couple of meals out, but we mostly ate food and snacks that we brought.  One snack that I made and brought with us was Mixed Up Munchies.  Using a bag of microwave popcorn, a bag of prepared cheese-flavored snack mix, and one cup of Hormel pepperoni minis, I tossed together the popped popcorn, snack mix and pepperoni minis in a large bowl then separated them in Ziploc bags.  It was the first time I made this snack and it was a favorite among us.

Have you tried any new Hormel Foods products recently?  If so, what did you try and what did you think?

As part of the Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger program, I received products to review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products. Your opinions and results may differ.

Their Turkey Pepperoni is a staple at my house. The boys love to snack on it.
