I've eaten a lot of cookies in my life but I can honestly say that I've never seen such presentation or detail in a cookie before becoming familiar with CASUE. To say I was impressed is an understatement.
CASUE is a boutique bakeshop specializing in custom designed and decorated cookies. The name comes from the two sisters and business partners, Carolyn and Susanne. Their iced cookies, available in a vanilla shortbread, can be designed to work with event themes and to match logos. You can choose from one of the designs showcased or request your own design. CASUE also offers ready-to-eat cookies, sold in box sets.
I received a dozen iced cookies from CASUE for review. I was blown away by the packaging even before I got a look at the cookies. The box itself had the company log and a ribbon tied to it. Inside the box were twelve cookies, each in their own bubble wrap to ensure they did not break in transit.
Inside the bubble wrap was iced cookies in sand pail and beach ball shapes. Each cookie was individually wrapped in a clear bag and adorned with a red or yellow ribbon. CASUE definitely goes all out when it comes to presentation.
Let's be honest here, beach balls and sand pails aren't the most complex of designs. However, there was nothing simple about the cookies. The detail and attention to them was amazing. The beach balls were decorated with red, white, and yellow icing. The white section was sprinkled with sugar to give it texture and added taste. The sand pails had raised lines in them to give extra detail and the sand part was sprinkled with sugar. There were even silver edible beads on the handles.
In addition to the wonderful design of the cookies, the taste was equally as great. When I first saw them, I thought they might be crunchy due to their look but they were soft to bite into and ohhhh sooo delicious.
These aren't your ordinary run-of-the-mill cookies. CASUE has got it down pat with their flavors and designs. Because these are gourmet cookies, they are a little pricey. The minimum charge for one cookie is around $4 and there's a twelve piece minimum per each design. However, if you have a special event or occasion that you want to impress people with, I highly recommend CASUE.
One person will win a dozen CASUE iced cookies in the sand pail and beach ball designs (winner will get to choose colors of icing).
