Educational Insights - KaBAM! Review and Giveaway

Educational Insights, a manufacturer of educational toys and games, has provided many hours of play to my children. Educational Insights products include subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators and parents who know that, first and foremost, learning must be fun.  Right now they are sponsoring a California Dreamin' Sweepstakes on their Facebook page for the chance to win a trip to Los Angeles to view a live taping of Jeopardy.  The lastest review and giveaway I'm doing for this upstanding company is KaBAM!

The fastest word-builders win this quick thinking, head-to-head word game. Two players or teams draw cards and set them down next to each other, face up. Each card features word parts including suffixes, prefixes, single vowels, consonants and dipthongs. Be the first to build a word by adding one or more letters to the sets of letters on the cards, and you can win the round.

My son, Adam, got cheated this summer.  He had foot surgery and hasn't been able to do normal summer activities like everyone else.  KaBAM!, the word game, couldn't have come at a better time.  He's been playing it quite a bit with me and his siblings.  It started out as a special game for me and him to play together and now it's turned into a game that he challenges everyone to.  To play, two players or teams draw one card each and place them next to each other, face up.  Players race to be the first to shout out a word using both letter combinations, undivided, including at least one additional letter.  When you win the round, you win both cards.  The player or team with the most cards at the end of the game wins.  There's not a lot of complicated rules and it's been a fun, educational way to think quick and put together word combinations.  After play, the cards can be stored in the tin that they come in.
