Smens Pens - Review and #Giveaway

Educational Insights, a manufacturer of educational toys and games, has provided many hours of play to my children. Educational Insights products include subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators and parents who know that, first and foremost, learning must be fun.  Right now they are sponsoring a California Dreamin' Sweepstakes on their Facebook page for the chance to win a trip to Los Angeles to view a live taping of Jeopardy.  The lastest review and giveaway I'm doing for this upstanding company is for the Smens Pens.

The latest release from the best-selling manufacturer of Smencils®, Smens® are gourmet scented pens made from recycled newspapers. Available scents include Red Licorice, Creamsicle, Aloha, Mystery Scent, Banana FoFana, Mocha, Passion Fruit, Ninja Berry, Pink Lemonade, and Black Licorice. Each Smen is individually wrapped in a stay-fresh biodegradable plastic tube and is guaranteed to keep its scent for two years.

The packaging of the Smens pens is pretty amazing.  The set of 10 pens comes in a zippered pouch to keep them all together.  Each pen is individually stored inside a plastic tube with a scent indicator on top.  I've divided the Smens pens up between me and my four girls.  We all think these are fun pens with a delicious smell.  The only thing I don't care for is the product name.  The name Smens is a little offputting to me.  Each pen has black ink and has its own distinctive smell.  The smells are noticeable but not overpowering.  The pens themselves have the feel of cardboard, which is unique.  I now keep a couple of these pens in my purse to use when needed and the girls have been using them quite a bit.  I think that Smens would make fantastic birthday party favors by dividing them up and putting one in each favor bag.
