I'm excited to announce that I am a Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger. I, along with a few other selected bloggers, will be sharing food entertaining ideas and tips for the next few months. Being an enthusiast for Hormel Foods, I'm elated to share this information with you, as well as learn a few new things myself.
Summer marks the beginning a season full of fun with family and friends. How do you celebrate graduations and/or the end of the school year? Do you host a party? Bring a favorite dish to a family pot luck? It's easier for us during the summer to celebrate important milestones because our large group can gather outside and mingle. The majority of our summer events are held at one of my family's campsites at the campground we stay at every weekend. The men usually cook meat on the grill and everyone brings a covered dish to share. Having so many family members and friends at the campground means that we are almost always celebrating something every weekend. It's a fun time being surrounded by so many loved ones and eating such delicious food.
Looking for a new way to celebrate an important milestone? Here are a few ideas:
Encourage your child to invite a couple of friends over to celebrate the end of the school year. They’ve worked hard all year (and so have you!), so take an afternoon or evening to reflect on the year and recognize everyone’s hard work. Tip: Serve a new twist on an all-time favorite with Braided Stuffed Pizza Bread or Easy Pepperoni Pizzas and pop in a favorite movie.
Give a grad a unique gift with a copy of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss. This classic is an inspiring story for any graduate starting a new chapter in life.
Celebrate the start to summer with a backyard barbeque with the whole family. Be sure to have outdoor games like croquet and badminton that are easy to play and are fun for everyone! Tip: Everyone is sure to love BBQ Blue Sandwiches with a side of Grilled Fruits and Applewood Bacon Spinach Salad.
As part of the Hormel Extended Family Blogger program, I will be receiving products to compensate for my time. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products. Your opinions and results may differ.
