ThinkGeek - Review and #Giveaway

Whether you consider yourself a geek or a collector of all things cool, ThinkGeek has an abundance of amazing gadgets, toys, t-shirts, and electronics.  In November I did a review for ThinkGeek and had a hard time choosing just one item.  Not because there wasn't anything I liked, but because I liked most everything.  I was over the moon when I received the opportunity to work with ThinkGeek again for Terra's Two Year Blog Bash.  Again, I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to review.  I don't consider myself a geek, but I could spend hours browsing all the neat items that ThinkGeek has to offer.

Because I'm infatuated with solar lighting, I choose the Sun and Moon Jars.  There are three, each sold separately.  Inside each white frosted jar is a solar cell, a rechargeable battery, and a low energy LED.  When the jar is placed in direct sunlight during the day, the energy powers the LED lamp inside the jar and they light up at night. 

I have all three Sun and Moon Jars lined up on my deck at my campsite and they emit a beautiful glow of color at night.  One is yellow, another pink, and the other blue.  They automatically turn on at night, without the need of doing it yourself.  There is an override switch inside the lid to turn off the light at night if you want, which I recently found out when my camper neighbor advised that the lights are pretty but glow into her window.  I'm not sure of the rhyme or reason, but sometimes the lights will flash continuously.  In other words, sometimes a jar will glow constantly and sometimes the color will flash on and off.  Either way, they emit a very pretty color and I like how they give an added light to my deck.  I also like that I don't have to worry about turning it on if I want light.  All I have to do is make sure they're placed in direct sunlight during the day and I can enjoy a gorgeous light show at night.

I also reviewed the LED Faucet Lights.  This attachment goes on the end of your faucet and lights your water up with an LED.  My original intention was to use this on my faucet in my camper; however, due to poor winterization, my hot water does not work in the camper.  Therefore, the LED Faucet Light is attached to my bathroom sink at home. 

The LED Faucet Lights come with an instruction sheet, chamber with LEDs, two universal adapters, and batteries that are pre-installed and a set of spare batteries.  My husband is the handyman of the house so he put it together attaching it to our faucet.  He said the instructions were easy to follow and it took very little time to put it on. 

Now the water in our bathroom has an awesome glow when we turn on the water.  The color light changes with the water's temperature.  When the water is cold, a blue hue of light is seen.  When the water is hot, the LEDs turn red.  It's pretty fascinating to watch.  The only downfall to having it attached to our bathroom faucet is that now the kids want to have it turned on all the time.  I can't blame them, the LED lights are mesmerizing.
