Hop: The Movie Game - Nintendo DS Game Review

Easter baskets will have more than just candy this year!  505 Games, a global interactive game publisher, has released Hop:  The Movie Game exclusively on Nintendo DS in stores everywhere.  Hop:  The Movie Game is a top-down action adventure game that brings many of the locations and characters from the movie to life in an interactive and entertaining setting that's perfect for gamers of all ages.  The game is based on Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's live action/CG animated comedy Hop, which opened in theaters on April 1st.

Hop:  The Movie Game is the ideal basket-stuffer for anyone on your easter list.  With dozens of missions, varied gameplay, and colorful graphics, this game will last much longer than a chocolate bunny.  It features the same hilarious comedic sensibilities of the film and it's the perfect game for little ones to play.

Play as "Fred" as you help the Easter Bunny's teenage son, E.B., save Easter from a fluffy coup d'etat led by Carlos and his fellow chick workers.  Hop your way through the Easter Bunny's top-secret candy factory on Easter Island, solve puzzles and sugar shock your enemies as you turn them into delicious chocolate treats.  Play through various mini-games and game modes, including helping E.B. realize his dream of becoming a famous rock-n-roll drummer.

Hop:  The Movie Game features include:

Wacky weapons, including chocolate super soakers, gumball shooters and cotton candy cannons.

Play through actual locations from the film, including Hollywood and Easter Island.

Tons of mini-games, including Whack-A-Bunny, Bowling for Candy, and the epic Easter egg hunt.

Hop:  The Movie Game is rated "E" for everyone.

My Review:

I saw previews for Hop on TV and thought it would be a cute movie for my kids to see.  Rather than taking them to the theater to see it, I am going to rent or buy the movie when it comes out on DVD.  Because they haven't seen the movie yet, they are not familiar with the scenes from the movie.  However, that does not deter them from having a blast playing Hop:  The Movie Game.  The bright, multi-colored graphics, along with the different game elements, makes this DS game entertaining.  Parts of the game are based upon an Easter theme, but it's a hippity-hoppity lively game to play anytime of the year.

I received game for review from Reverb Communications.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products.  Your opinions and results may differ.

Very cool! My kids loved the movie and I have one stepson who has a DS and who (if continues like he is now) will end the school year with all A's this year. That means a new game for his system. This would be perfect for him!
