I was not named after anyone; however, it is my grandmother who named me.
My oldest daughter, Shelby, is named after Julia Robert's character in Steel Magnolias.
My nephew, Ozzy, is named after Ozzy Osbourne.
I have a niece who has the same middle name as me, Lynn. She was given that middle name because my sister said I don't come around very often and at least if she named her daughter with my middle name, she'd get a reminder of who I was. I'm not sure if I should've felt honored or not.

My Dad used to have a friend at work who's little girl was named Amy. He liked the name because it was easy to spell. My middle name is Dawn because I was born at Dawn.
I loved shelby :)
I was named after a song back in the 70's. The James Gang had a song called Alexis and that then became me :)
I was named after a soap opera star on I believe General Hospital :)
Although, my middle name was my grandmother's on my mom's side.
All in all, I love my name!
