Christmas has come and gone. What to do with ourselves now!
I missed out on posting my Christmas photos, with the exception of the special visit from Santa Claus, so I'm including them in this week's Wordful Wednesday.
This is three of my kids standing in front of the little tree and big pile of presents. We had our opening of presents on December 23rd in our home. The presents were stacked from floor to ceiling and it took a while to pass them all out. I have a Christmas ritual in that each person opens their presents separately, from youngest to oldest. With six kids and two adults, it can be time consuming. However, it gives each person an opportunity to show off what they got and revel in their gifts. It also lessens the chaos.
Christmas Eve was spent at my sister's house. There's always an abundance of appetizers, desserts, and other delicious foods.
This is Allyson and Emma, two of my girls, enjoying the Christmas Eve dinner.
This is my great-niece, Imani, looking as adorable as ever. Most of the little girls were outfitted in Christmas dresses. I have to say I miss dressing mine up. They're older now so I have little control of what they wear.
My great-nieces, Faythe and Madelyn are cheesin' for the camera.
The adults and a handful of the children, in addition to the regular gift exchange, played a game with small gifts that were passed around left or right according to certain words that were read from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I ended up with Ferrero Rocher candy (my favorite) and a losing lottery ticket (not my favorite).
This is me and Jason at my sister's on Christmas Eve. On the actual day of, we were alone in the house with no kids (get your mind out of the gutter) and spent time at home just relaxing.
