Educational Insights - GeoSafari Motorized Solar System Review and Giveaway

Educational Insights, a manufacturer of educational toys and games, has provided many hours of play to my children. The lastest review and giveaway I'm doing for this upstanding company is for the GeoSafari Motorized Solar System.



The GeoSafari Motorized Solar Sytem gives kids a view of space with a light show. In a darkened room, the sun shines onto the nine planets as they orbit around it. The solar dome can be replaced with the star dome to create a planetarium sky showing major constellation names. Planetary longitude marks help the planets set up to their correct positions.

There are a number of pieces that make up this display, but assembly is quick and easy. Being that it is somewhat of a large piece, I recommend plenty of room for it to set on and properly work. It takes C batteries or an A/C adapter, which are not included.


My kids have had the GeoSafari Motorized Solar System for a while now. During camping season, they'd take it outside on the deck at night and position it towards a camper so they could watch the planets orbit and constellation names light up. The base and rods do not show up in darkness, so it looks almost like the planets are suspended. Although not completely scientifically accurate, it has been a fun piece for the kids to play with at night.
