Shelby, Allyson, Juliann, and Emma - all my girls - love school. They like everything about it, including the homework. They don't seem to struggle and I rarely have to worry about their schoolwork. Their grades and attitude reflect their love for learning.
Logan and Adam - the boys - are a different story all together. They're both in sixth grade. Although the question arises all the time, they are not twins. Logan should be in seventh grade, but was held back in kindergarten because he struggled even then. They're both awesome kids with a heart of gold and they both excel in other areas of life. But schoolwork, especially math and reading comprehension, is a downfall. I have to remind them that F doesn't stand for fantastic.
Finding out that I was accepted as a Kaplan Tutoring Test Drive Mom was almost like finding out I won the lottery. Hey, I'm a desperate mother here and am willing to try almost anything under the sun to see their grades raise above C level. One thing I've noticed through the years is that giving Logan and Adam educational toys or programs to do seems to help.
For the next eight weeks, I will be working with Logan and Adam with the Kaplan Online Learning Program and their Smart Track Online Learning Program. It is supposed to help assess, teach, motivate, and adapt my children in to what I hope becomes more excited learners. Logan and Adam are ready to take on the challenge and I will be posting about their experiences and success rates with the online tutoring program.
I wrote this review while participating in a Test Drive Program by Mom Central on behalf of Kaplan and received the products necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.
