A full-length CGI feature film, Strawberry Shortcake: The Glimmerberry Ball Movie follows Strawberry and friends and they prepare to celebrate the coming of winter with a secret gift exchange and a festive winter ball. But, when someone destroys their decorations and the girls all carve the same design in the Glimmerberry Ball lantern event, they have some mysteries to solve in an endearing fun-filled adventure. This movie made its debut on August 31st from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, American Greetings, and Cookie Jar.
Strawberry Shortcake was a favorite of mine when I was younger and I'm happy to pass my love for it on to my younger girls. Being in support of one another and promoting friendship, Strawberry and her friends work together to solve problems in this movie set in winter scenes.
I think this would make a fun movie for girls in the 3-9 year old age range to watch. The CGI effects bring a modern, updated twist to a classic, timeless character.
The special features in this DVD include a Never Say Never Sing-Along, a Read Along Storybook, and printable coloring pages. I've printed a few of the coloring pages out and Emma has spent some time coloring and talking about her favorite scenes from the movie.
Two people will win Strawberry Shortcake: The Glimmerberry Ball Movie on DVD.
