Yesterday, September 14th, a new DVD came out starring Barbie and her friends. If the special girl in your life is into Barbie, fairytales, or fashion, Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale is a DVD that will entrance her.
In Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale, Barbie and her dog, Sequin, jet off to visit her aunt's amazing fashion house in Paris. Much to Barbie's surprise, it's about to be shut down forever. After she discovers three enchanting Flairies with sparkle-magic powers, Barbie comes up with a brilliant idea to save the business. She even inspires Alice, a shy fashion designer and, together, they create a runway fashion show. The DVD includes bonus features such as the "Life Is A Fairytale" music video and a Trailer Gallery.
My youngest girl, Emma, is eight years old and still into the wonderments of Barbie. Sitting down and watching this DVD with her brought back memories of when I used to play with Barbie and rememberance of why it's still so popular today.
Barbie and Ken, a couple destined to be together forever, break up by phone. That, along with other misunderstandings, leave Barbie feeling flustered. Running away to Paris, Barbie meets up with her aunt and finds that she's having problems all her own. A budding designer, Alice, comes into the picture to help make things right. With a little magic, Flairies arrive to help save the day. Barbie and her aunt learn some very important lessons in the end and all is well.
Emma liked Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale because of the mixed elements of romance, fun, fashion, magic, and happy endings. She particulary liked the Flairies, mythical creatures that help designers with their magic.
To go along with the newly released DVD, there is a new Barbie and Ken doll. The Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale Transforming Fashion Doll features an outfit that transforms from a princess gown to a party dress. Barbie's bodice lights up and is synchronized to music from the movie. Shyn'E, Glim'R, and Shim'R, the Flairies from the DVD, are also available in doll form.
Now that we've seen the DVD together, Emma has made it clear she will be asking Santa for Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale dolls, playsets, and accessories for Christmas.
I received DVD for review from MomSelect. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products. Your opinions and results may differ.
