Wordful Wednesday - Christmas and New Year's In July

If you'd like to participate in Wordful Wednesday, link up at Seven Clown Circus.

Last weekend's theme at the campground was Christmas in July and Happy Half New Year. Now before you go thinking that there must be something in the muddy water that makes us do crazy things there, let me explain that the campground is closed in the winter. Although I'm sure there's a few of us that would stay there in a blizzard, we aren't allowed to so we celebrate the winter holidays during open season.

There was a kids craft session where Christmas ornaments and rice shakers were assembled and made to be used for the actual holiday.

A prize was given out to the best decorated camper. It was almost like going through a lights display, seeing all the outdoor lights, decorations, and inflatables.

There was even a golf cart parade. Carts were adorned with Christmas decor and candy was thrown to kids watching.

Santa even stopped by on his golf cart to let the little ones know that he's watching them...even in the summer.

Later Saturday evening was the Half New Year's Eve party. A band played while campers celebrated with party favors and hats. I'm not quite sure what a lei has to do with New Year's but why not add to the dorkiness?!
