Celery Street - Review & Giveaway - SS&E #2

In November I did a review and giveaway for Celery Street, and I'm privileged to work with this company again. They are dedicated to offering a selection of eco-friendly, recycled, reused, and refurbished gifts, housewares, and practical items.

I received a set of the Sugarcane Paper Notebooks for review. Instead of trees being used to make these notebooks, they are made from a combination of sugarcane pulp and recycled card stock. Discarded sugarcane stalks produce high quality paper, and it's biodegradable. It's also printed with non-toxic soybean ink. These notebooks come in different sizes so you can choose the one that's right for you. On the back of the notebooks is a description of what sugarcane paper is and why it's beneficial to the environment.

I've tried notebooks from other sources before that weren't made from trees. Although they worked just fine, the paper was either thin or grainy. What I really like from the sugarcane notebooks is that they feel just like regular paper. The paper itself doesn't rip or tear easy when writing on it. I have a large tote that I carry papers and notebooks in. With some notebooks I've used, the front cover tears at the spiral after a while. I don't think I'll be having that problem with these notebooks. The recycled card stock that makes up the front and back covers is hard and firm, making it nearly impossible to tear off.

I've been using the pocket notebook to jot short notes in. The other two I received are going to be used this school year by my daughter, Shelby. She likes the overall look of the notebooks and was surprised to learn that they were made of sugarcane.
