Wordful Wednesday - Emma & Logan's Birthday

For this week's Wordful Wednesday, hosted by Seven Clown Circus, I am going to show off photos from my youngest step-daughter and oldest son's joint birthday party. It was a simple festivity at our camper with a gathering of family for a cookout and swimming.

Logan turned 12 years old. He is a bird of a different feather, but has a heart of gold.

Emma turned 8 years old. She is the most outspoken of my step-daughters. Monkeys and peace signs are her current obsessions.

It was hooooot and I didn't want the mess of a melted cake or cupcakes, so we had homemade iced sugar cookies. My mother made them and they beat out any store bought sweets.

My mother was also nice enough to make personalized poster boards for each guest to sign. She has recently started making them for each family member's birthday party and they are now an anticipated keepsake.

My niece, Madelyn, loves to pose for the camera.

Did I mention that it was very hoooot that day?! The party was somewhat rushed because people were sweating bullets and couldn't wait to jump in the pool. This is five of my kids cooling off in the water.

Looks like everyone had fun in spite of the heat - and your mom's cookies and poster boards look wonderful! Princess Nagger will be 8 in November - I didn't realize your step-daughter was the same age! :)

I'm ready to jump in that pool!! :)
