My nephew's birthday party was Sunday, complete with a DJ (or otherwise known as my husband) and a bounce house with a slide. During the middle of the afternoon, for whatever unknown reason, the power went out. For inquiring minds that want to know, bounce houses can and will deflate very quickly. The top of the thing started collapsing and a ruckus broke loose. Parents panicking and kids crying. It was like a scene from World's Wildest. My 3 year old niece happened to be at the top when it collapsed and when my son, Logan, found out he was gone quicker than Superman on speed. He ran up, grabbed her, and ran her down the slide. He even received a finger in the eyeball for his heroic efforts. Mama's proud of him.
Speaking of unselfish acts, Logan and Emma's joint birthday party was supposed to have been held on the 10th. Due to my grandmother's passing, I felt it was best if we rescheduled for the 17th. Neither child complained, moaned, or groaned about having their birthday party moved to a later date. They understood completely and enjoyed their party this past Saturday.
I have lots of photos for reviews and of the birthday parties to post. I'll find out tonight just how waterproof my digital camera is. I left it in the golf cart at camp and I have no doubt that it's more water soaked than the Tidal Wave.
My teenage daughter went to her first job interview yesterday. Aww, the baby girl's growing up into a responsible adult. Or at least a teenager that really wants to save up for a car of her own.

Way to Go Logan! You must be really proud.
Sorry about your grandmother's passing. ((HUGZ!)) Very cool that Logan and Emma didn't complain about their joint birthday celebration being postponed a week.
That whole bounce house collapse scenario would have been freaky! Kudos to your son for being alert to rescue your 3yr old niece. :)
Good luck to your daughter with her first job! Why must they grow up so fast?! :)
