SPAM has been a part of my family for years. When I was a kid, my mother would make all sorts of concoctions out of this meat product. Years later when I mention that a meal has been made using SPAM, people's reactions are either that they absolutely love it or absolutely dislike it. I, for one, am a fan of it and my kids have no problem devouring it either.
My favorite way to cook SPAM is by cutting it up into slices and grilling it on the George Foreman grill. What I didn't know is that there are different varieties of SPAM, apart from the classic original that's been around for so many years. For instance, SPAM Single Lite is an already cooked slice packaged up. The package can then be opened and the SPAM can be added to salads, snacks, and more.
With SPAM's Dish This! program, I was able to find a whole new world of recipes to make using the different varities of SPAM. I am excited to try a lot of these recipes out, especially the SPAM & Cheese Calzone. It seems the possibilities are limitless as to what can be made with SPAM. With the new SPAM: Dish This! program, you are able to get recipe tips, upload recipes, and print SPAM coupons. In addition, you can get ideas on how to use SPAM with the three kitchen staples of eggs, bread, and pasta.
Now until June 30th, you can submit an original recipe using SPAM products and you will receive a free gift. When your recipe is published, tell people about it so they can rate your creation and so you can have the chance to receive a year's worth of SPAM products by having one of the three top-rated recipes. I'll be honest that I'm not very creative when it comes to making new recipes. However, I like to find ways to use ingredients in creative forms and have found a lot of great ones that my husband will be cooking up for us soon.
One person will receive a SPAM kit which includes an assortment of SPAM food products, a spatula, and a trivet.
