I don't call myself "Heck Of A Bunch" for nothing. There's a bunch of us in my household and that can add up to a lot of waste. Between all the bathroom stops, runny noses, meals, and messes there seems to be a never ending need for paper products.
By using Marcal Small Steps paper products, my family can help save four trees after just one year. That gives me a peace of mind when we are constantly using paper towels, napkins, tissue, and toilet paper. Instead of harming the environment, we are helping ensure that trees can continue to thrive with Marcal Small Steps.

Marcal Small Steps was introduced in 2009 with their line of 100% recycled paper products. Most of the recycled paper comes from Township and Collection Agencies, and is primarily made up of used magazines, bulk mailings, office paper waste, and other scraps. Now that may sound a little odd or make you think their products are rough to use, but my family has been using it with no signs of roughness or scratchiness. We've found the facial tissue to be gentle on our noses, the paper towels easy to clean up messes, and the toilet paper to do its job on our behinds. For those with sensitivity to dyes and fragrances, it is good to know that no dyes or fragrances are used in the manufacturing of their products. There is no need for trees to be killed when there is a way for us to use paper products without harming the environment.

Win It!
One person will win a Marcal Starter Kit that includes an assortment of Marcel paper products - toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, and facial tissues.

I almost always buy their toilet paper. We love it in our family. I can never find any of their other products in our stores, I wish they sold the kleenex especially!

The truth is you don't save any trees by using Marcal. And Marcal does much more harm to the environment than good. They are the biggest polluter in NJ, and have been fined almost a billion dollars by the EPA. They filed for bankruptcy to avoid having to pay this. Then they claimed to be "green" and earth friendly. What a joke. And you can look all this up. They recycle because it is cheaper to do so, then convince consumers they are helping the environment, to get them to buy an inferior product. It is a pure marketing ploy.
You want to help the environment? Use less paper. There are many ways to do so.

I learned that by running your clothes washer and dishwasher only when they are full, you can save up to 1,000 gallons a month. We already do that, but with only two people, I don't think our savings comes near that.

I have learned that for over five decades, Marcal has been saving the environment and trees and reducing landfill by making their paper products from recycled paper. Marcal uses paper collected from curbs in residential neighborhoods in cities and towns across America–from the small blue baskets in office buildings, unwanted junk mail, and waste from printers–all in an effort to do something good, to produce something that people need.

I get a laugh out of this FAQ question : "No, Marcal Small Steps does not recycle used Toilet Paper. Consumers dispose of these items either in septic or sewage systems or in trash, none of which are collected for recycling." *Thanks* for the giveaway!

I know a way to save more on toilet paper than any coupon or special. This covers all the bases = saves you money, helps the environment, helps your health, makes you feel better, it's so easy to do and it costs less than $50.00; Save money and the Earth and be clean at the same time! Add Bathroom Bidet Sprayers to all your bathrooms. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: "if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn't wipe it off with paper, would you? You'd wash it off” Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com with these you won't even need toilet paper any more, just a towel to dry off! Don’t worry, you can still leave some out for guests and can even make it the soft stuff without feeling guilty. It's cheap and can be installed without a plumber; and runs off the same water line to your toilet. You'll probably pay for it in a few months of toilet paper savings. As for water use a drought is always a concern and must be dealt with prudently but remember the water use of industrial users far exceeds the water use of household users and in the case of toilet paper manufacture it is huge. The pollution and significant power use from that manufacturing process also contributes to global warming so switching to a hand bidet sprayer and lowering your toilet paper use is very green in multiple ways.
