Wordful Wednesday - A Busy Weekend

This past weekend sure was busy. Between a birthday party, prom, and campground activities it seemed like we were go, go, go. But it was all wonderful. Spring and summer seem to bring about a flurry of activities. If you'd like to participate in Wordful Wednesday, link up at Seven Clown Circus.

Sunday was my nephew's 22nd birthday party. In my family, a birthday party is held for you regardless of age. Who knew someone could be so excited over a garden hose?!

During the birthday party, I tried to play Baby Whisperer to my newest niece, Zoe, but she was having none of it.

We didn't get to do a lot at the campground due to pouring rain. That didn't stop the die-hards from still finding a way to have a good time. We were supposed to have a group wienie roast, but the rain didn't allow for it. So we all huddled inside the shelter house while my son played King Cook and grilled for the first time ever. He did a fine job with the hot dogs and grilled biscuits.

When it's pouring rain, some of us just aren't smart enough to pack up and go home or stay inside our campers. All it takes is a tarp and some bungee cord to make a golf cart weatherproof. May as well make the best of the situation!

My daughter went to prom Saturday with her boyfriend. He met up with her at my sister's house and took her out to eat and then to prom. Shelby received a beautiful corsage from her date. Guess what her date did NOT receive...a boutonniere. She failed to tell me that he'd need one from her and it's been so long since I've been to prom that the thought didn't even cross my mind.

I'm no master stylist, but I think I did a good job on her hair. Took me forever and a day but I thought she looked lovely.

I love this photo of my daughter and son. These two aren't the best of buds so it was nice to see a rare show of sibling love. I'm having this photo made into a canvas to hang in the living room.
