Schleich - Review & Giveaway

My boys may be 10 and 11 years old, strapped in to the world of technology, but they still know how to use their imagainations and enjoy imaginative play.

I received a set of Schleich figurines to review. Logan and Adam have used them to pretend they have a farm, as well as pretend they are in a wildlife refuge. They received the Moose Bull, Moose Calf, Moose Cow, Warthog Piglet, Warthog Boar, and Warthog Sow. When not in use for play, their figurines are proudly displayed on their dresser.

I'm not sure I've seen such a vast assortment of figurines as I have at Schleich. I remember Smurfs when I was growing up and it was one of my favorite cartoons. Schleich has Smurfs figurines and cottages in their product range.

If wildlife and Smurfs are not to your liking, there's also figurines and sets for farm life, prehistoric animals, knights, fantasy, and American Indians.

Each figurine has true-to-life modelling, is in compliance with all relevant safety regulations, bears the Schleich logo, and is individually handpainted. The figurines we have look just like the real animal. The detail is amazing.

These figurines are not made up of some cheap plastic. They are made to last through years of use and play.

For many of the figurines, there are facts included online next to each of them. Logan and Adam have researched the animal figurines they received and have learned lots of new information about the real animals. Schleich figurines and sets can be purchased online or at a number of retailers.

The new movie push seems to be Dreamworks animated/computer generated movie "How To Train Your Dragon" released in theaters on March 26th. There is merchandise everywhere with dragons and medieval themes on it. Although it is in no way associated with the movie, there are Schleich figures to satisfy dragon lovers. One such figurine is Faraun. She is an elegant dragon that takes care of and protects her freshly hatched baby.

The prices of the figures at Schleich are a little more expensive than you will find with average figurines. These are pieces that could become collectibles. Individual pieces could be purchased one at a time and slowly added to build on to a collection.
