Random Tuesday Thoughts - The Last of the Campground Walkers

I totally missed last week's Random Tuesday Thoughts. Didn't think it mattered until somebody pointed out that they missed it and actually do enjoy reading what I have to say (and that person isn't even my mother!) I won't make any promises that this week's will be doubly good to make up for the lack of last week's but I'll give 'er a shot. If you'd like to participate in Random Tuesday Thoughts, link up at The Un Mom.

My 16 year old daughter asked if she could go to prom this year....eight days before the actual event. Nothing like going to something prepared! So all in a whirlwind I have briefly met the boy that is taking her, have made plans for him to come to supper tonight for a roundtable judgment, and have taken her dress shopping. Thankfully Shelby inherited her mom's frugality genes. I took her to a thrift shop that resells designer clothing and found her a dress that fits like a glove for just a little under $33. Seriously, it looks like a million bucks on her and no one would ever guess it was purchased at a yard sale price.

Never mind the hair, but this is a photo of Shelby in her prom dress. It is covered in sequins from head to toe and just sparkles.

My family has finally joined forces with the rest of the campground bohemians and we've purchased a golf cart. We are no longer the Walker, Campground Rangers. The campground we stay at is quite large and although I like a good walk once in a while, it took forever to get from point A to point B at times. And everything fell into place so perfectly that we were just meant to get this golf cart. The price and timing were both right. Now I get to join in all the reindeer games, otherwise known as golf cart parades and activities, like the rest of the girls and boys.

Today I get to clean my house so it is appropriate for a teenage boy to enter (like he'll even care) and to find my daughter's battery charger that I swore I wouldn't misplace. I'm gonna bet that I end up buying her a new one because I'm pretty sure I have absolutely no clue where I placed it.

I'm still chuckling over the 'roundtable judgment'. :) LOVE the dress! She's going to be stunning on Prom night!

That's funny that now you'll get to participate in the reindeer games - if your sister will actually let you... ;)

Good luck finding the charger - you know you'll find it the minute you buy a new one.

I want to come to dinner too! It could be so entertaining.

I love that you guys found the perfect dress without weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth!

I wish I had a golf cart for the campgrounds too. I get tired of walking or driving my car for the areas too far to be able to walk back from. And I will have to remember the roundtable judgement. I like that. Happy RTT!
