When I was quite a bit younger I remember watching my mom craft and create. She was super talented with cooking and baking. She had a pile of Wilton books, cake pans, and candy molds on hand to make treats that were extra-special. I remember her commenting that Wilton products were used by her often because she could count on them to be reliable and help her make what she wanted.
Now, years later, I know why she chose Wilton as a brand for a lot of her cooking needs. Wilton has been in the industry for over eighty years as a leader in cake decorating, quality bakeware, and food crafting.

Cupcakes N More 38 Count Large Dessert Stand - One item I received to use at Shelby's birthday party is the Cupcakes N More 38 Count Large Dessert Stand. Although I did not use all 38 slots for Shelby's party, I occasionally hold parties that need that many. The stand required simple assembly and the cupcakes easily sat on each slot. It made an elegant and beautiful piece to display the cupcakes on. I had to transport the stand from my home to the park. Thankfully, the ride was short. With careful precision, my step-daughter held on to the base during the ride and the cupcakes stayed in place. This stand can also be used for fruit, treat bags, and small desserts. When not in use, the layers separate and can be placed back in the box for storage.

Dimensions Giant Cupcake Pan - My husband is the one who baked the cakes out of this pan. He did a trial run before the party by making one for me to take to work and share with my co-workers. The end result certainly looks like a giant cupcake. Before baking in it, my husband sprayed the pan with non-stick spray. When he went to take the cake out, he had no problems with it sticking to the pan and it was quite easy to clean when I washed it. The basics of it is to put cake mix in each of the two sides of the pan and then, after cooking, assemble the top and bottom halves with a thin layer of icing to make it into one large cupcake.
The overall look of the cake is darling when finished. Many compliments were received on the cake made for my co-workers, as well as the cake made for Shelby's party. The only problem I had was when slicing it to serve. When I got to the middle, the cake wanted to topple over and I had to be careful to make sure that it stayed in place. I've seen a few ideas on the Wilton website on different ways to use this pan that I think I'll use for future parties.

Win It!
One person will win a Cupcakes N More 38 Count Large Dessert Stand and a Dimensions Giant Cupcake Pan.

I actually like the giant cupcake pan the most!
This tip was great: As a general guideline, if you are having trouble creating the decorations you want and you feel your icing is too thin, add a little more confectioners' sugar; if you feel your icing is too thick, add a little more liquid.

Considering all of the things Wilton offers, it seems silly, but my FAVORITE, cannot do without tools from Wilton are the candy dipping set (http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E310270-475A-BAC0-5FE2E29343261BC6&killnav=1)
These things are more than a little useful, not only for candy, but for any form of dipping to coat item. I use them to make candy, cake balls, petit fours, everything!

Second favorite Wilton product...how to pick a favorite Wilton pan from all my baking pans??! Oh, ok, I guess the brownie pan gets the most action!
kurussell@comcast.net
Learned from Cake and Dessert Decorating 101: Sounds simple, but I never thought to vary the consistency of the icing between cake decorations and the writing. Thinning out the icing a bit would definitely make writing the thin words a little smoother. Doh! :)
