WaterGeeks - Review & Giveaway

As some of you already know, I own a camper and it is permanently set at a local campground. As much as I love camping and somewhat roughing it, I do not like the hard water that is potentially full of contaminants. Because of that, I tend to buy a lot of bottled water to drink.

Although I will not completely cut bottled water out of my life, I am going to make a conscious effort to reduce how much of it we go through and use during the upcoming camping season. According to WaterGeeks, only about 10% of the 10 billion bottles of water sold each year are recycled and tons of greenhouse gases are generated each day.

The WaterGeeks are helping turn the global water crisis upside down by educating consumers and providing new water consumption choices. Their Stainless Steel Bottles offer an alternative to bottled water. In addition, they also sell natural health and beauty products.



I received two Filtered Stainless Steel Bottles for review, one 24 oz and one 12 oz. I have a few stainless steel water bottles, but none that include a tap filter that filters chlorine, bad taste, odor, lead, and other potential tap water contaminants.

The concept is simple. You simply fill the bottle with tap water, snap the filter cap onto the top, and it filters the water as you drink. Each filter will last for up to eight hundred 12oz servings. I'm not exactly sure how the tap filter works, but it gives me a peace of mind knowing that the water I'm putting into my body is cleaner and I'm able to do it without spending lots of money on bottled water. These water bottles will be a staple at my camper when we are there.

Lately, on Saturdays, the family has been going to the local hobby shop to watch my husband and son race their RC trucks. Although it is a family-friendly atmosphere, energy drinks are the only drinks that can be purchased there. That's not something I want my children consuming. Therefore, I have been filling the stainless steel bottles up with water and have been taking them with us. As I am filling them up, I am able to feel the cold chill of the water while just holding the water bottle in my hands. These water bottles have done a wonderful job of keeping the water cold for a long period of time. When we're through, I throw the bottles in the sink to wash and rinse off the caps with cold water. Although the particular bottles I received are somewhat above my price range, I figure it's a lot cheaper than buying many cases of bottled water and it's safer for the environment.
