Free Style - DVD Review & Giveaway

Movie Synopsis:

Cale Bryant (Corbin Bleu) needed someone to believe in him. Ever since he was young, he’s wanted to race motocross professionally; but after a string of bad luck hits his family hard, the would-be champion is forced to put his dreams on hold. All that changes when he meets Alex (Sandra Echeverría, star of Telemundo’s “Marina”), a beautiful girl who gives Cale encouragement, support and an old bike so that he can get back in the game again. Now, with Alex by his side, Cale takes on the challenge of his life: to beat the odds and cross the finish line a winner. Free Style also stars Penelope Ann Miller (Kindergarten Cop) and Madison Pettis (The Game Plan), and features music from star Corbin Bleu and The Jonas Brothers!


My review:

I have kids who range in age from 7 to 15, both girls and boys. I am pleased to say that this movie had something that appealed to all of them in one way or another. It had love and friendship and heartfelt moments, which the girls liked. Of course it didn't hurt that Corbin Bleu of High School Musical fame was the star. The teenage girls think he's a looker. The music played in the movie by The Jonas Brothers and Corbin Bleu was enthusiastically enjoyed by the girls as well.

The boys were enthused with the sports and competition aspect of it. Logan didn't care much for the "lovey dovey" parts of the movie between Alex and Cale, but he's at the stage in life where love and girls are icky. I found this movie to be geared more towards the tween and teen age groups. However, I'm an adult in her 30s who liked it and wouldn't mind watching it again.
