Creative Toyshop - Review & Giveaway

I've mentioned before that my youngest son loves to color and draw. He'll spend hours engaged in individual play, making creations.

Creative Toyshop is an online site that encourages creativity with their line of Calafant Cardboard Toys. Instead of drawing and coloring on paper, children can take it to a 3-D level with the high-quality cardboard toys that they can color and decorate to their liking.

I received the Calafant Cardboard Toy - Dragonrock Castle and immediately thought of my son and how it would put his creative skills to work. The cardboard toys come in three sizes of small, medium, and large. The Dragonrock Castle is a medium set and includes 12 non-toxic, washable markers in assorted colors.

Adam first assembled the castle. Assembly was not hard, but he did request help with putting it together. Once it was assembled, he was quiet for the next few hours coloring the castle. While doing so, he talked about knights and dragons and princesses that might occupy the castle. His imagination was in full motion. After he was done and pleased with his colorful creation, he took the castle to his room and used figurines that he had to make up a medieval scenario.

The castle sits atop his dresser when not in use for play. It is made of sturdy cardboard and has withheld his countless times of play with it. I would recommend with the cardboard toys that they not be crammed in a toy box or left on a floor because they could be smashed or get bent out of shape.
