Movie Synopsis:
Experience the romance, struggle and triumph of legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart as she chases love and lives her dreams in Amelia, available on Blu-ray Disc with Digital Copy and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Hailed as “The Queen of the Air,” Amelia boldly flew into the annals of history with her solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Bound by ambition and love, her enduring marriage to George Putnam could not be broken by her determination to fly, or a secret passionate affair. Equal parts gripping drama, stirring romance and epic adventure, Amelia will take your breath away and send your spirit soaring! Directed by Mira Nair, Amelia stars two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank, Golden Globe winner Richard Gere and Golden Globe nominee Ewan McGregor.

My Review:
We've all learned about Amelia Earhart in history. This movie tells the story of her desires and ambitions. It is heartwarming and shows how a person can have the willpower and drive to do what they want against.
Hilary Swank did a wonderful job of portraying Amelia in appearance and behavior. The love between Amelia and her husband, played by Richard Gere, is there but there's not a lot of emotion involved. There is little conflict in the film; I would have liked to have known more about what made Amelia have such determination and the challenges she overcame.
The visual effects of the film are nice, particularly when Amelia is flying. The landscape below is breathtaking. It felt like I was seeing the world through her eyes. This movie does not give a lot of history beyond what we already know, but it is uplifting and gives the feeling of going against all odds despite the outcome.

I've always respected Thomas Jefferson for his courage to write the Declaration of Independence. There are not many men in history who were willing to put life, career, and family on the line for the betterment of our country.
