In my home, my husband likes to drink coffee. I do on occasion, but not as often as he does. I like to drink hot tea and hot chocolate, especially on a cold day. With the Tassimo, we can have the hot beverage we want in a matter of seconds.
Tassimo is a home brewing system that freshly brews your favorite cup of tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and more. With the Tassimo Discs (T DISCs) you can make the hot drink you want, when you want it. Each T DISC contains a unique barcode that instantly tells the Tassimo machine precisely how to prepare your hot beverages. The microprocessor on the Tassimo reads the bar code printed on each T DISC label to automatically calculate the correct water amount, temperature, and brewing time for every beveage. To use, simply insert your choice of T DISC, select the right cup for your drink, and press the button. In about a minute you'll have a delicious cup of hot brew ready to savor.
The minute I received the Tassimo at my door, I dropped everything I was doing and immediately took everything out of the box to use it. I was like a kid in a candy store, being so excited to try out the home brewing system. Set-up was easy and the instructions were a breeze to follow.
There is more than one model of the brewing system available for purchase. I received the TASSIMO Suprema Hot Beverage Machine by Bosch, which includes a MAVEA MAXTRA water filter. The first beverage I tried with the brewing system was the Twining's Chai Tea Latte. I inserted the correct T DISC and pressed the button. Tea came pouring out into my cup. I kept my eyes peeled to the machine, in awe of how it worked. I was amazed at how simple and easy it was to make my own one-cup beverage. I then added the T DISC for the creamer and watched it pour out to make the perfect combination of tea latte.
As soon as my husband came home, I insisted that he let me make him a cup of coffee with the Tassimo. Once the coffee was brewed, I handed him the cup and he took a taste. He liked it overall but admitted it was a little strong for his liking. That didn't deter me. Another great feature of the Tassimo is that you can make your beverage as strong or as weak as you like it with a manual push of the button. If you want more water added to make it weaker, all you've go to do is push the button to let the water come through.
I like the Tassimo so much that I've thought up reasons to use it. Friends have come over and they've barely sat down before I've offered to brew them a hot beverage. I've even taken the system to work to show my co-workers. I let them choose which beverage they were interested in and quickly whipped a cup of delicious liquid up for them.
Although I will never give my coveted Tassimo up, I have let my 10 year old son operate it. He is a fan of hot chocolate and wanted to brew himself a cup of Milka Hot Chocolate. I showed him how to use the machine and he hasn't had to have help since. He likes it so well that he wants one for himself, to keep in his room. I told him that wasn't necessary since we have one with a permanent spot in our kitchen. He and I have had so much fun using the Tassimo and our favorite is the Milka Hot Chocolate. We have since ran out of the T DISCs for the chocolatey goodness, but I will be either ordering some soon online or running out to Bed Bath & Beyond to purchase some more.
This is Adam placing his cup for hot chocolate onto the machine.
This is Adam enjoying his mug of hot chocolate. I think he enjoyed it more because he made it himself.
The only problem I've had with the machine itself is that the top lid where the water is contained does not stay snapped in place. This is not a problem until I go to move the machine and the lid comes off. I just have to keep an eye on it and make sure to set it back in place. I have used the Tassimo numerous times and am proud to display it among my kitchen appliances.
I received a Tassimo brewer and beverages for review. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products, as your opinion may differ.
