Out of all the kids, I'd say my youngest son has the biggest imagination. It's amazing what scenarios and ideas he comes up with. He'll play for hours crafting things and making up a world all his own.
When I found out about Stack & Stick, I knew their solid wood educational toys would be perfect for my son. Stack & Stick are award winning, wooden interlocking toys that allow a child to build their own set to play with.
There are many reasons to love this company. One is that their products are made in the USA and made of solid wood. There are lots of toys on the market that are of cheap quality standard, but I was impressed with how durable the wooden blocks are. This is something that can be played with for a long time without fear of breaking easily. In addition, all Stack & Stick sets are tested to the standards set forth by the CPSIA.
I received the Cozy Cabin, a 41 piece set, for review. With little interruption, I stood by and watched my son build the cabin. I wanted to see how easy it was for him to build it and how well he liked it, without my input. He sat at the kitchen table and interlocked the wood pieces to build his cabin. You could see the gears turning in his head as he assembled his cabin. After he finished assembling it, he got out his farm figurines he owns and played for a long time imagining them living in the cabin and imagining it as a hitching post. I took notice that this Cozy Cabin exercised his building skills and imagination. He has played with it many times since and has even made his own creations with the Cozy Cabin.
There are a lot of pieces in the sets. Luckily, there is a drawstring bag included to put your pieces in. That makes it much simpler to carry them around and keep them from getting lost. I do recommend keeping them away from little ones as they could possibly pose a choking hazard.
Currently there are four sets available for purchase, as well as an Optional Accessories set. The company will have a new product to show in 2010.
I received product for review. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products.
