Last Saturday was busy at the campground. It was the last official shindig for the season. My family got involved in a lot of the activities during the Halloween carnival. The weather was not cooperative, as it was very cold and windy. But that did not stop a large turnout.
The festivities began with trick-or-treating for the kids. Children went to different campsites and got lots of candy. Then there was a hayrack ride that took people all around the campground. A soup supper followed with lots of delicious food. Next was a Haunted Trail with a path for those brave enough to go through. My husband was one of the volunteers. And to end the festivities was a live band that got everybody up and dancing.
I had a wonderful time, but it was bittersweet because the next time we will be at our camper will be to winterize it. I'm ready to start the camping season over.
My boys on the golf cart trick-or-treating. That's the easy way to do it.
Some of the adults dressed up as well and added decorations to their sites.
My oldest son with his best scary face showing off his loot of candy.
We went on the hayrack ride more than once. It was relaxing.
My boys waited a long time to get into the Haunted Trail. This is the first time they've ever been in anything like it because I thought they were too young before and was afraid of how scared they may be. They surprised me. Both really enjoyed it and now want to go to the area haunted houses. We'll see.
